SENIOR CAPTAINS/VICE CAPTAINS FOR 2024/25
We are pleased to announce the Senior Captains/Vice Captains for the 2024/25 season
Annan Warriors
Captain: Ashley Clark
Vice Captains: Eilidh Jardine & Malvina McGeoch
Warriors Head Coach Colin Warrick:
“This season Ashley Clark will continue as Captain ably supported by Vice Captains Eilidh Jardine & Malvina McGeoch who take on a leadership role for the first time.
All three will lead from the front both on & off the pitch with their 197 combined Warrior appearances standing them in good stead.
Really looking forward to the season ahead, with an opportunity to develop in West 2.
The Warriors have been working really hard in pre-season on their fitness & some new areas of their game structure, which hopefully will become second nature during our three pre season games.”
ANNAN MEN
1st XV Captain: Kieran Warrick
1st XV Vice Captain: Josh Whiteside
2nd XV Captain: Simon Dix
2nd XV Vice Captain: Lex Stevenson
Men’s Head Coach: Juan Phyfer
“After an interesting previous season with Annan, with many highs and lows, we are all very excited about the new season ahead. I’ve realised just how difficult and combative West 1 is, so this year will be no exception. We have a fantastic coaching group this year and hopefully we have a successful season.
Kieran Warrick will carry on as Captain and hopefully continue grow into the role and lead from the front. Josh Whiteside has accepted and taken over Vice Captain duties, he has really impressed me since the turn of the year with his efforts and leadership at training plus his transition from fly half to scrum half!”
2nd XV’s Team Manager: Steve Jancey:
“This season the second team have decided to stick with one team Captain. I believe that the team will benefit from a consistent calming leader rather than the constant changes of last season.
The player we have chosen is Simon Dix who had the experience and know how to get the best out of our players.
Simon will be assisted by vice captain Lex Stevenson who will grow into the role and keeps our team in touch with the youth of our club. Who we wish to encourage to step up when experienced enough to play their part in the Annan 1st team as and when opportunities arise.”
Congratulations from all at Annan Rugby and here’s to a great 2024/25 season
