1ST XV ON SHIELD DUTY

STOP PRESS: The last go down 43-18. 20-18 at half time it was anyone’s game but the 1st XV’s bad run on plastic pitches continues as Cumnock ran away with it in the 2nd half. Points: Capt Kieran (T), Josh (2P, 1C), Wibz (T).

Match Report – Now Online

The 1st XV are away to Cumnock in the 2nd round of the National Shield competition on Saturday,

The teams met earlier in the season in the league at Cumnock where the home team came out on top but Coach Juan will be wanting to take the lessons from that match and get a better result this time.

Cumock play on a artifical pitch – something the 1st XV have always struggled on – but hopefully the lads can break their losing streak on such pitches on Saturday but it will require a big effort from the team.

KO: 1.30pm

1st XV starting team: 1 Ryan Glass 2 Sean Haren 3 Keiran Warrick 4 Fraser Hope 5 James Morrison 6 Alex Halliday 7 Callum Smith 8 Ryan Hetherington 9 Fraser McMillan 10 Josh Whiteside 11 James Kirby 12 Johnny Callaghan 13 Aaron Carmichael 14 Ben Latimer 15 Andrew Jancey

1st XV subs: 16 Murray Forbes 17 John Glendinning 18 Callum Taylor 19 Stewart Livingston 20 Murdo Bruton

2ND XV HOST GREENOCK

STOP PRESS: The visitors win 5-29. Try scorer Simon Dix. Great match and always good to see Annan putting out a 2nd team, One of the few in the region that still can do so on a regular basis. Match Report – Now Online

The 2nd XV host Greenock Wanderers 2nd XV on Saturday at Violetbank.

The 2nd XV are still looking for their first win of the season but with the run of home matches scheduled it is hoped that it will be sooner rather than later!

2nd XV subs: 16 Alan Lee17 John McKay

WARRIORS 100 UP ON SATURDAY

STOP PRESS: Great effort from the Warriors but it is the ladies from the East coast who prevail 29-10. Despite the scoreline the Warriors were in this match for the full 80. Points from Nicole Barlow and Hannah Paterson tries. Match Report – Now Online

The Warriors take on Broughton Ladies in the National Shield on Sunday at Violetbank which will also be the 100th match (league/cup) for the Warriors since their first match back in 2015

In that time, the Warriors have played 30 different teams and travelled over 10700 miles!

It will be a tough match against the Edinburgh side who just missed out on potential promotion to the Premier league when they finished 2nd in their league.

The Warriors though will be buoyed with their great win away to Dunfermline Ladies in their last match and will be hoping to build on this as they try to make it 2 from 2 in the Shield this season.

KO: 2pm

Warriors XV starting team: 1) Eilidh Jardine 2) Megan Brogan 3) Megan Cother 4) Rhianna Parker-Clevett 5) Jacqui Stitt 6) Ashley Clark © 7) Eilidh Henderson 8) Kayleigh Warrick 9) Lexie Glendinning 10) Nicole Barlow 11) Jane Stewart 12) Hannah Paterson 13) Joanne Clark 14) Amber Pattull 015) Stephanie McCracken
