1ST XV HOST LENZIE

STOP PRESS: Another poor performance and the lads go down 14-38. Points: Ryan Hetherington (T), Josh Whiteside (2C), Kieran Warrick (T)

Match Report / Photos / Tries and Full match – Now Online

The 1st XV have big match on Saturday as they host Lenzie at Violetbank.

With only 6 matches left in the season – the 1st XV probably need to win 4 of the matches with quite a few bonus points to boot if they want to be playing West 1 rugby next season

With 3 home (Lenize, Wigtownshire, Oban) and 3 away (East Kilbride, Ardrossan and Strathaven) matches, the lads need to start picking up the wins.

On their day Annan should not fear any of the teams they have left, even away to Ardrossan, but so far this season it just hasn’t clicked for the full 80 but no doubt Coach Juan will be ensuring that on Saturday it does!

For the record, unless the 1st XV win their shield match away to Cumnock or Waysiders on the 17th February and get a home tie in the 3rd round – as it stands this will be the last 1st XV home match for 12 weeks!

2pm KO

1st XV starting team: 1 Ryan Glass 2 Sean Haren 3 Kieron Warrick (C) 4 Frazer Hope 5 James Morrison 6 Eben Le Vin 7 Ryan Hetherington 8 Callum Bell 9 Ben Latimer 10 Josh Whiteside 11 James Kirby 12 Jonny Callaghan 13 Alex Halliday 14 Adam Torbet 15 Andrew Jancey

1st XV subs: 16 M Bruton 17 Calum Smith 18 Fraser McMillan 19 J Glendinning

2ND XV ARE ON THE ROAD

STOP PRESS: Alas the match is OFF as we can not raise a team 🙁

The phrase that has been heard all season – the 2nd XV are on the road – this time to Strathaven.

Hopefully though if we can actually get teams to travel to Violetbank, the 2nd XV then have a run on 6 home and 1 away league matches to finish out the league season.

Its been a tough old season for the 2nd XV with the lack of home matches not helping but hopefully the lads will be able to pick up their 1st win of the season on Saturday

2pm KO

WARRIORS LONG TO TRIP TO OBAN

STOP PRESS: Game cancelled as we can not raise a team.

The Warriors are also on the road as on Sunday they face the long trip to Oban.

With 2 matches left, Oban on Sunday and away to Greenock Ladies the following week, the Warriors need 2 huge performances if they don’t want to end up bottom of West 1 at the end of the season.

Its been another rebuilding season for the Warriors but Coach Warrick will be pleased with the progress of the squad as they get to the end of the league season and start to concentrate on the Cup season.

Warriors XV starting team: TBC

Warriors XV subs: TBC

2pm KO

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

STOP PRESS: Great result for the U16 Boys as they run in 11 tries to 1 to win 67-7. Well played lads.

Just the U16 Boys in action as they are on the road to Wigtownshire on Sunday. TBC KO

Edit: U14 Girls are now off to Allan Glens

Best of luck to all the teams this weekend.
