1ST XV ON THE ROAD TO EAST KILBRIDE

STOP PRESS: Match OFF – Pitches unplayable

With just 5 matches to go in the West 1 league season, the 1st XV find themselves at the bottom of West 1 after last weeks defeat to Lenzie

With 2 teams most likely going down this season, time is running out for the lads but its still in their own hands and a win on Saturday against East Kilbride would be a step in the right direction!

The teams met earlier on in the season at Violetbank when the visitors clung onto a 19-18 win after some controversy with a last gasp penalty kick by Annan.

Coach Juan will be wanting his team to cut out the mistakes when in a scoring position that was evident last week against Lenzie and get that defence tightened up.

If Annan lose this match, it’s still not over but depending on other results on Saturday, it could be a massive mountain to climb especially with the matches they have left to play

Talking of which, this will be the last West 1 match to be played by Annan until they travel to face runaway league leaders Ardrossan on the 23rd March as the season pauses for the 6 Nations and Shield fixtures.

2pm KO

1st XV starting team: TBC

1st XV subs: TBC

2ND XV ARE AT HOME

STOP PRESS: Match OFF – Pitches unplayable

Disappointedly the 2nd XV could not fulfil last weeks fixture at Strathaven but the coaches will be hoping a rare home match on Saturday will encourage a few more players to become available.

Over 65 players have played for the senior men’s teams this season so hopefully between the 1st and 2nd XV we can get at least 35 to start on Saturday!

The 2nd XV host Dalziel and with the lads still waiting to get that elusive win it should be a great contest.

Could any players that are available and wish to play, please reply on SPOND, via StevenJancey@gmail.com or on 0787 162 1476 before Thursday evening 8pm.

2pm KO

2nd XV starting team: TBC

2nd XV subs: TBC

WARRIORS LAST MATCH OF THE LEAGUE SEASON

STOP PRESS: In terrible weather conditions the Warriors go down 22-0.

Match Report – Now Online

Unfortunately like the 2nd XV, the Warriors were unable to fulfil last weeks match and as a result the Warriors will be playing West 2 rugby next season as even if they win Sunday’s match against Greenock Ladies they can not get off the bottom of the West 1 table.

Its been another tough rebuilding season for Warriors and Coach Warrick who, after Sunday’s match, will be looking to the SRU Shield competition that starts the following Sunday away to Dunfermline Ladies.

2pm KO

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

STOP PRESS: Match OFF – Pitches unplayable

The U14 Girls are the only Youth team in action this weekend as they host a home festival up at Violetbank on Sunday again girls teams from around the region and Scotland. TBC start time.

Best of luck to all the teams this weekend.
