RUGBY MATCHES
1ST XV ON THE ROAD
The 1st XV travel to Greenock Wanderers for their penultimate West 1 league match of the season.
A win for the Annan team and 7th spot is probably secured.
The teams met earlier in the season when the Greenock side scored a last-gasp try to sneak the win at Violetbank.
After Saturday’s match, the Annan players will have to wait until the 2nd May (!) for their final league match of the season away to Lenzie. A match that could determine if Lenzie are promoted or not!
The players and coaches though, will be wanting to build on their last performance when they hammered Cumnock and end the season on a decent run.
Match kicks off at 3pm
WARRIORS XV STILL ON FOR THE MURRAYFIELD REPEAT
On Sunday, there is a big, big match at Violetbank as the Annan Warriors, the defending National Plate Champions, aim to get to Murrayfield once again.
They welcome Lenzie Ladies to Violetbank for the National Plate Semi-Final.
The teams have met twice this season in the West 2 league, and the Lenzie Ladies came out on top on both and also stopped the Warriors from scoring a single point!
So the Warriors have no illusions that this will be the toughest match of this season, but with a return to Murrayfield the prize, you know the Warriors will be up for it!
The teams met this time last year at the same stage of the competition when the Warriors kicked a conversion in the last seconds to win the match. Hoping for the same result this time, but I am sure most supporters would rather the Warriors made it slightly less stressful!
Will be a great match up on Sunday
2pm KO up at Violetbank
