1ST XV AWAY TO BISHOPTON

STOP PRESS: The lads go down 17-14. Tries from Mason Watret and Ryan Glass in the 2nd half but the lads had left themselves with too much to do. Josh with 2 conversions

Match Report, Photos and Highlights: Now Online

The 1st XV are away to Bishopton on Saturday in their last match of the 1st half of the West 1 league season.

The teams have never met before at a 1st XV level but the clubs have met at various youth and other senior levels.

The Annan lads will hoping it make it 3 wins on the bounce after their great wins in the last couple matches against Cambuslang and Oban

Bishopton are having a tough season in West 1 but they did get their first win of the season last weekend so will be also hoping to add to that on Saturday to get themselves out of the relegation spots

Annan still have an outside chance of promotion but will probably need an undefeated run until the end of the season and hope some other matches go their way. Unlikely but never say never!

3pm KO

Annan 1st XV squad: 1 Ryan Glass 2 Murray Forbes 3 Kieran Warrick (C) 4 Frazer Hope 5 Mason Watret 6 Stewart Livingston 7 Wallace Alexander 8 Willie Grey 9 Josh Whiteside 10 Fraser McMillan 11 Ben Latimer 12 James Kirby 13 Aitken Render 14 Max Thorburn 15 Aaron Carmichael 16 Sean Armstrong 17 Eben Le Vin18 Adam Dickson 19 Alex Jones 20 Jaun Phyfer

2ND XV ENTERTAIN CUMNOCK 2ND XV

STOP PRESS: Great win for the 2nd XV though. 41-25.  Well played lads

Points from: Bradley J (2T), Lex S (T, 3C), John G (2T) , Callum S (T), Drew T (T)

Match Report and Highlights: Now Online

The Annan 2nd XV are home to Cumnock on Saturday up at Violetbank

Both teams are sitting on 10 points with 2 wins and a loss so far this season. The Annan lads actually had an extra win away to East Kilbride but unfortunately East Kilbride have withdrawn from the league so the score was voided.

With the league now just an 8 match season – thanks to the withdrawal of various clubs including Galloway – the 2nd XV have 4 matches to go and can still win the title but like their 1st XV it will mean an unbeaten run and leaders Ardrossan to perhaps lose another match as well as their match versus Annan.

All to play for!

3pm KO

Annan 2nd XV squad: 1 Dan Burns 2 John James Mackay 3 Michael Carpenter 4 Drew Thorburn 5 Kieron Riches 6 Callum Kirk 7 Andrew Shepard 8 Callum Smith 9 Simon Dix (C) 10 Lex Stevenson 11 John Glendinning 12 Ben Conroy 13 Bradley James 14 Jack Ogilvie 15 Danny Lockerby 16 Liam Boyd 17 Alexander Hodgson 18 Thomas Firby

WARRIORS AT HOME TO UDDINGSTON

STOP PRESS: Warriors thump Uddingston running out 48-0 winners. Well played Warriors.

Points: Erin E (T), Mally M (T,4C), Jane H (2T), Kayleigh W (T), Ashley C (T), Katie M (T), Stephanie M (T)

Match Report, Photos and Highlights: Now Online

After 2 away defeats in a row, the promotion chances of the Warriors has reduced but like the 1st and 2nd XV there is still a chance!

On Sunday the 2nd placed Warriors welcome Uddingston Ladies to Violetbank for the first time.

The teams met last month when the Warriors came out on top in a physical match.

Uddingston are currently sitting in 3rd spot and need to win to have any chance to get out of West 2 while the Warriors also need the win to keep the pressure on leaders Bishopton.

The Warriors will have noted the lovely messages online/enthusiastic support at matches over the last couple of weeks and they will most certainly be up for this match on Sunday

Coach Warrick will be hoping that a few more Warriors will be available for this match after injuries and unavailability reduced the numbers for the last couple of matches

2pm KO
