HIGHLAND GAMES AND FAMILY FUN DAY
The Highland Games 2024 last Saturday was another great success
With 20 odd children from P1-P7 and 2 teams in from S1-S6. We also had 2 ladies teams and 3 men’s teams involved.
Each teams participating in the shot putt or welly toss, steeplechase, sprints, caber toss, tractor pull, quad pull or tyre pull, highland dancing and of course everyone’s favourite, the team tug of war.
The blue team won it for the P1-P7’s and it was the Birthday Bumps who took the win for the S1-S6’s.
We had a new winner for the mens with the Gretna Immigrant’s just beating The Players by 2 points
And the women’s team it was a draw but as competitive as they both were it ended in a dance off and Team Dyslexie took the title.
We had a new hot dog eating competition this year where the winners where Jack and Ashley Cole with some impressive times.
Big thank you to all who came to join us, all teams who entered, everyone who helped on the day from the running of the events to the BBQ.
Thank you to paints and sparkles and fuelled by Katie which the sweet treats were definitely a crowd pleaser.
To Drainwise for supplying the pipes for our new obstacle in the steeplechase, our DJ and the scouts for putting up the marquee and for the weather to have stayed dry and for the sun appear.
And many thanks to Eilidh Jardine for organising.
Our next event will take place on Saturday 10th August were the meerkats take on the grizzlies at Violetbank which is sponsored by Ladies day
