1ST XV HOST WIGTOWNSHIRE

STOP PRESS: Match POSTPONED

The 1st XV host Wigtownshire on Saturday in their latest West 1 match.

With only 7 matches left the 1st XV need quite a few wins to avoid the dreaded drop to West 2.

And with just 3 matches at Violetbank, Saturdays match will be one of the matches Coach Juan will no doubt be targeting as a potential win.

The West coast team won the encounter earlier in the season and are lying in 2nd place in the league but the league is so tight (bar Ardrossan who are romping it) they are only 14 points covering 2nd to 10th. Wigtownshire have also only won once on the road so far this season and at Violetbank the 1st XV still have a decent record.

Wigtownshire are probably safe from any relegation battle but have little chance of catching the leaders while Annan desperately need a win to help with their relegation troubles. Saturdays match will come down to who wants it more!

A win for Annan and there is still a lot to do to get out of the relegation mix but it would be a start.

2pm KO

1st XV starting team: TBC

1st XV subs: TBC

2ND XV ALSO AT HOME

STOP PRESS: Match POSTPONED

Despite having 65 plus players who have played for the 1st or 2nd XV’s this season, in recent weeks a large number of players have become unavailable for matches. It it hoped however a home match on Saturday versus Allan Glens will give the boost needed to get the numbers up once again.

As has been the script for the past 3-4 seasons, the fixtures have not been kind for the 2nd XV this season with too many away matches allocated as opposed to home (last year) and too many away match in the 1st half of the season (this year) and with teams reluctant to travel to the distance to Violetbank the few home games they have had scheduled so far this season have been called off.

However Allan Glens are a team who like to travel to play rugby wherever and unless the pitches are unplayable due to the weather there is a great chance this match will be on.

2pm KO

2nd XV starting team: TBC

2nd XV subs: TBC
