STOP PRESS: Alas the 2nd XV local derby match is OFF as Galloway could not raise a team. A reminder that the 1st XV match and the U16 Girls match v Shetland U16 Girls who are making the 900 mile round trip to Annan, are still ON.

The 1st XV won 23-14. Well played lads. Points from Juan (T), Willix (T), Kieran W (T) and 8 points from the boot of the Josh (2P, 1C). Enjoy the pints lads.

Both the 1st and 2nd XV are at Violetbank on Saturday.

The 1st XV take on Dalziel. Both teams had great wins last week so will be a big indication on who might be challenging for the top spots this season in West 1.

Dalziel came up from West 2 last season and the last time the teams met was back in March 2019 when Annan ran out 24-17 winners.

Over the years the teams have met 7 times at Violetbank with the home side having a 4-3 winning edge. Heres hoping that on Saturday at 2.30pm its 5-3!

The 2nd XV had a great showing last week at Kilmarnock but eventually went down but will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they take on Galloway at Violetbank.

Galloway are a combination of Stewartry/Wigtownshire and Newton Stewart and are always a tough team to face but the 2nd XV are looking stronger this year and will be hoping for a winning home start this season.

Please note both matches are kicking off at 1pm.

Good luck lads

WARRIORS ON THE ROAD TO WEST OF SCOTLAND

STOP PRESS: Unfortunately the Warriors match on Sunday is OFF as too many Warriors are currently out with injuries/unavailable this weekend.

The Warriors next match will now be at home to Greenock Wanderers on the 17th September

Its been a tough set of games for the Warriors so far this season.

After last weeks heavy loss away to Biggar Ladies, the Warriors are back on the road again this time to West of Scotland Ladies

The teams have met 3 times in league and cup competitions over the last 3 years with the West Kadies having a 2-1 lead.

West of Scotland Ladies are currently top of West 1 but had a shock defeat at Cartha last Sunday.

So another tough match for the Warriors, but despite what the score lines have been suggesting, the Warriors are improving week on week and will be hoping it all finally clicks on Sunday

2pm KO

Warrior Starting XV: TBC

Warrior Replacements: TBC

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

On Saturday, the well traveled Shetland U16 Girls are taking on hosts Annan U16 Girls up at Violetbank. This has a 5pm KO.

The U16 Girls had a tough introduction to National 1 last week v Stirling Girls but will be hoping for a better showing this Saturday but Shetland Girls will be another tough test.

After this match, the Girls then host Dumfries in a local derby match.

While last, but no means least, the U14 Girls start their 2023/24 league season with a trip to Ayr Rugby for a Rugby Festival. Start time at the time of writing is a TBC

Good luck to all the teams this weekend.
