1ST XV ON THE ROAD TO ARDROSSAN ACCIES

STOP PRESS: The 1st XV go down 13-6. Josh Whiteside with 2 penalties. Match report now online

The 1st XV continue their West 1 league campaign on Saturday with a trip up the North Ayrshire coast as they taken on Ardrossan Accies at Memorial Field

Like Annan, Ardrossan are having a tough old season and currently lie bottom of West 1. They, also like Annan, have been improving week on week. Last week they just lost to Stewartry 20-3 at the Greenlaw.

For Annan, they will be hoping to build on the last three performances where they have lost by just 6, 3 and 2 points. Matches in which Annan could have easily picked up 15 points instead of just 3 with a bit more focus.

The teams met earlier in the season at Violetbank where Annan ran out convincing winners but as mentioned Ardrossan as quite a different prospect this time around.

For the record, Annan have faced Ardrossan 3 times in the past at Memorial Field and have lost on every occasion. The last match was in 2005 though, so no current Annan 1st XV player has played at Memorial Field.

A big match as Ardrossan really need to start picking up wins if they are to move off the bottom of the table while Annan will want to finally get over the win line and take some kind of winning form into the following weeks match – at home to promotion chasing Stewartry!

Kick off: 2pm
