Plus at 17 Bank Street, it’s Super Saturday as the final 3 matches of this years 6 Nations will be on at the club. Doors from 2pm for the Wales v Italy match – although am sure you will rather be up at Violetbank supporting the 1st XV  – KO: 2pm. The Scotland match kicks off at 4.45pm

On Sunday, the U14 Boys are away to Carrick for a rugby festival while the U14 Girls are also on the road to a Rugby festival but at Marr

Lastly, but as always by no means least, the three P1-3, P4-P5 and P6-P7 squads are at Violetbank hosting their counterparts from Moffat and Stewartry.

Best of luck to all the teams this weekend

1ST XV ENTERTAIN EAST KILBRIDE

STOP PRESS: The 1st get a great win, beating East Kilbride 14-5. The Annan points coming from a Elliot Haley try and 9 points from the boot of Josh Whiteside. Well played lads.

Match report now online

After last week’s match was postponed, the 1st XV will be eager to get back to rugby action on Saturday as they host East Kilbride.

East Kilbride, like Annan, are no longer in the race for the Championship but they are one of the better teams left in the top half of the league. They currently lie in 5th spot, 9 points ahead of Annan who are in 6th, albeit Annan have 2 matches in hand.

The teams met earlier on in the season when the South Lanarkshire team won convincingly 40-15.

East Kilbride have been one of Annan’s bogey teams over the last 10 years with just 1 draw for Annan in the last 10 years.

At Violetbank Annan do have 3 wins and a draw in the 8 league meeting but the last win was back in November 2011. On Saturday Annan will be hoping to end this poor run and get back to winning way as they enter the 2nd half of this already long season!

Annans remaining matches after East Kilbride are Irvine (H), Lenzie (A). Allan Glens (H), Strathendrick (A), Cambuslang (H). Carrick (A), Kilmarnock (H) and Irvine (A).

Matches that the 1st XV are capable of winning. The toughest of that bunch is of course unbeaten league leader Allan Glens but still all to play for and a 4th placed finish is certainly still a possibility.

Kick off at 2pm

Annan starting 1st XV: Ryan Glass, Kieron Warrick, Nick Graham, Michael Thompson, Dan Robson, Harry Houldey, Callum Bell, Sean Haren (VC), Aaron Carmichael, James Kirby, Josh Whiteside, Alex Halliday, Jonny Callaghan, Elliot Haley, Andrew Jancey (C)

Annan subs: James Bigham, Adam Torbett, Zac Lockerbie, Callum Smith

2ND XV AWAY TO ARDROSSAN

STOP PRESS: Alas had to happen eventually and for the first time this season, the 2nd XV can’t raise a team. Therefore Saturdays match away to Ardrossan has been called OFF.
The ever expanding injury list and covid isolations has finally caught up with the lads.

For the 2nd XV it’s another game on the road as their league season enters its final stages.

The 2nd XV are off to Ardrossan, a team they have played numerous times in recent years and they will be wanting to return to Bank Street with the 5 points in what is their last away league match of the season.

The 2nd XV still have a couple of home matches coming up and if they can win these 3 matches then 4th spot is also still a possibility for Annan.

Ardrossan have struggled all season to get a 2nd team out, with 10 of their 12 matches so far this season being forfeited but they did get a team out a couple of weeks ago when they beat Newton Stewartry so it’s hoped that the match on Saturday will be going ahead.

Kick off at 12pm

Annan starting 2nd XV: TBC

Annan subs: TBC
