1ST XV BACK IN ACTION ON SATURDAY

STOP PRESS: Final Score: Strathendrick 12 v Annan 7 – Ah well at least a bonus point, and unless Tag got the scorers the wrong way round – a very rare Haren conversion! Annan Points from: Willix try and a Haren conversion (!)

Full match report – 1st XV: Now Online

After a wee break due to the 6 Nations and the weather, the 1st XV are back in action in a crucial West Division 1 match. The 2nd XV do not have a match this weekend.

The 1st XV’s last match was the 19-13 win over Cambuslang back on the 25th January, and the black and amber will be wanting to continue their winning ways v the 2nd bottom placed club.

It will not be an easy task as Strathendrick are only currently 2nd bottom due to lack of matches played and some unlucky results in the past few matches. At home, Strathendrick do not go down easily and will be wanting to reverse their 27-17 loss back in November at Violetbank.

Both teams know they have to win this game if they want to avoid the relegation spots come the end of the season. For Annan a win is more urgent as matches are starting to run out.

Players to meet at Bank Street at 11am for the 3pm KO.

WARRIORS ON THE ROAD

STOP PRESS: Match postponed. Weather and pitch conditions. Ah, winter rugby!!

The Warriors are also back in action this weekend in the National Plate competition as they take the long journey North to face Oban Lorne Ladies.

With results going the Warriors way last weekend, the Warriors can clinch top spot in Group B if they can get a win against Oban on Sunday.

The Warriors do have a 2-1 winning record but the 1 loss was back in their only trip to Oban in February that year.

The Warriors have already qualified for the Quarter Finals of the Plate but will be wanting to get back to winning ways after their loss to Kelso in their last match.

P4-P5 TIGERS OFF TO SCOTSTOUN ON SUNDAY

STOP PRESS: Team had a great time.

From Team Manager Heather Tinning: “Well done to players from Annan P4/5 Tigers who played various games at the Glasgow Warriors Mini Rugby Festival on a cold, windy day. At one stage it was very wet and blowing a gale.

Thank you to our hosts for inviting our Tigers today. Also to our Coach Jim Tweedie, and to all Parents for supporting the players. Many thanks to Ed Woodman, our bus driver (a very smooth journey!) A very busy day for the Tigers, ending in a well deserved McDonald’s (or Pizza Hut for some)”

On Sunday players from the P4/5 team will be attending the Glasgow Warriors Mini Rugby Festival at Scotstoun.

Players to meet as arranged with the coaches. Have a great time Tigers!

Best of luck to all the teams and players this weekend. Let’s hope the weather improves and we get to see some rugby!
