RUGBY MATCHES

1ST & 2ND XV’S BOTH ON THE ROAD

Mixed fortunes last week as the 1st XV lost while the 2nd XV won. Both teams are now on the road this Saturday for their latest league matches.

With 6 matches left for the 1st XV and 5 of the 2nd xV and both teams near the relegation spots every point is now crucial if they want to be playing West Division 1 and West Reserve 1 rugby next season.

The 1st XV are off to East Kilbride who are one place and 2 points above Annan. The West coast team had a massive win last weekend against bottom placed Cumnock, are on a 2 game winning streak and they seem to have found their form at the right time.

For the Annan 1st XV wins are becoming hard to come by with just 1 win in the last 7 matches and the lads need to start to find that winning form if they are to get themselves out of relegation trouble.

The 2nd XV are also in the bottom half of their division and with only 1 home match left from their remaining 5 fixtures the players need to start picking up away points and potential wins if they are also to get out of any relegation trouble come the end of the season. Saturdays opponents are Hamilton Bulls who currently lie in 3rd spot so all the players need to be firing on full cylinders to get something from this match

Both matches kick off at 2pm

WARRIORS START THEIR NATIONAL PLATE DEFENCE

The Warriors start their defence of the National Plate on Sunday as they travel to Marr to take on Marrlequins.

The teams met twice in the league this season with the Warriors easing to victory in both but with a number of players unavailable or injured the Warriors will still need to be at their best if they want to start with a win.

There are 4 groups of 5 in the National Plate and only the group winner qualify for the next round so every match is huge as one slip up could mean the end of any ambitions of returning for a Murrayfield Final.

The Warriors had a good run out last Sunday versus Dumfries Ladies but Cup rugby, especially away from home, is a different beast and the squad will need to be focused for the full 80 to come away with the win and potentially 5 points.

Match kicks off at 2pm

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

The U13 Boys are in action on Sunday as they host to Loch Lomond/Helensburgh for their second league match of 2026. The boys will be looking to add to their great win last week away to Ardrossan

Kick off: TBC

The U6-U12 Tigers are away to Moffat on Sunday for their first set of matches in 2026. Start time a TBC

Best of luck to all the teams this weekend
