After last weeks derby defeat to Stewartry, Annan have another tough match against 3rd placed Cumnock on Saturday at Violetbank
Cumnock are still with a chance, albeit small, to finish in the play off spot for promotion.
The teams met earlier on in the season where the Ayrshire side won convincely on their artificial home pitch. On Saturday a heavy Violetbank pitch will be a different prospect with both teams needing to win the match for different reasons. Cumnock to keep up their 2nd spot ambitions and Annan to most likely secure West 1 rugby for next season.
Coach Gogs will be hoping that he can put out his strongest team but with the 6 Nations starting on Saturday a few players will most likely be unavailable.
For Annan it’s been a difficult set of recent fixtures and after this weekend, they travel to West 1 favourites Garnock in a couple of weeks.
A big Annan support would be most appreciated as always. The England v Scotland match will be on at the clubhouse afterwards.
Kick off: 2pm
Starting XV: 1 Ryan Glass 2 Callum Bell 3 Kieran Warrick 4 Frazer Hope 5 Kieron Watret 6 Willie Gray 7 Callum Smith 8 Sean Haren 9 Fraser McMillan 10 Josh Whiteside 11 James Kirby 12 Alex Halliday 13 Aaron Carmichael 14 James Kirby 15 Andrew Jancey (Capt)

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION
STOP PRESS: 22 Annan Hornets attended at Marr for the various teams and had a successful day. Full match reports – Now Online
Unfortunately the U16 Boys match was cancelled. A training session was held instead.
On Sunday the always improving U16 Boys are off to Ayr to take on the Ayr/Wellington team in their latest Cup match while the majority of the U14-U16 Girls are off Tranent for a rugby festival. The matches are being held at the Meadowhill Sports Center.
The Annan U16 Girls and U18 Girls selected for the Glasgow South squad are off to Edinburgh as they take on their counterparts from the East Squads on Edinburgh Uni’s Peffermill playing pitches. Congratulations once again to all the selected players.
As always if you can attend any of this weekend’s matches, your support if always appreciated.
