Training is back on for the Senior Men/Women and U18 Girls/Boys this week on Wednesday (at Gretna FC) and Thursday at Violetbank.

All other training will restart in the coming weeks.

On Monday we had the Annan Select XV v The Farmer Select XV – a great match with the Farmers running out 31-24 winners.

We only have one match this weekend as the 1st XV travel to Lenzie in their latest league match.

STOP PRESS: The 1st XV go down 24-21. 19-7 down at half time, the lads came storming back but alas only leave with a losing bonus point. Unlucky lads.

The 1st XV start off 2023 with a league trip to Lenzie Rugby.

The Annan lads will be wanting to get back to winning ways after a disappointing start to the season. Annan currently sit in 8th spot with 3 wins from 10 while Saturdays opponents are in 5th spot with 5 wins from 10.

A win for Annan though could see them leapfrog over Lenzie on points though but it will be a tough old game at Viewfield – a ground which Annan have lost on their 2 previous trips.

Since 2013 the teams have met 11 times with Annan winning 7 of those meetings.

But in recent years, Lenzie are on top with 4 wins from the last 6 encounters.

Matches are always close with the average score being 18 v 17 to Annan. The 1st XV will take a scoreline like this on Saturday.
