WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

10TH OCTOBER 2021

The theme for world mental health day this year is AN UNEQUAL WORLD.

For those of us who experience mental illness, we live in an unequal world, there is no two ways about it. STIGMA, DISCRIMINATION, LACK OF SUPPORT AND ISOLATION.

And with the added pressures that the COVID 19 PANDEMIC brought to all of our lives, especially to those with pre-existing mental problems and the support services they needed severely disrupted.

The office of national statistics reported earlier this year that we were seeing an increase of more than double the number of adults experiencing depression than before the pandemic from 10% to 21%.

If you have been affected by any of these issues or just looking for some support or advice, there is a list varied helplines available on our Website Page, and also at the LooseHeadz Foundation Website, with whom Annan Rugby has partnered up with to support all within the club whatever your role is.

Here at Annan Rugby our mental health and wellbeing coordinator is Laura Mackay, if you need any more information please get in touch anytime.
