LAST PRESEASON GAME FOR THE SENIOR MEN

Stop Press: Due to the lack of available Annan players, the game has been moved to Moffat and a combined Moffat/Annan team will now take Wigton on. 3pm Kick off. Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause!

Annan host friends Wigton Rugby on Saturday at Violetbank in preparation for the new league season that starts the following week with a home match v Kilmarnock.

The Annan squad were beaten last weekend by Strathaven Rugby and so will be wanting to get a better result versus the men from the north of England.

It will be a tough match as the last time the teams met, Wigton ran out convincing winners.

Players to meet at 1.45pm for the 3pm kick off

Annan Squad: TBC

U18 LEAGUE WAS TO START

Alast the U18 Boys match on Saturday v Cartha Queens Park has been cancelled due to lack of Annan players. Alas too many injuries and players unavailable.

Hopefully the lads will start their campaign next week away to Biggar Rams.

DERBY MATCH FOR THE WARRIORS

Stop Press: Alas the Warriors go down 36-14. Onto the next one Warriors!

The big match of the weekend will be at Violetbank on Sunday as the Annan Warriors hope to get their league season off to a winning start.

The Warriors match last weekend was postponed due to the pitch conditions at Broughton, but it was perhaps a slight blessing as it has allowed some of the Warriors to recover from the various injuries they have been carrying.

Alas what the rugby Gods giveth, they also take away, and the Warriors will once again only have a squad of 16 players on Sunday.

New Warriors Captain Nicole is back though, and vice-captain Chelsea is back in the forward pack.

The Sirens sit on top of the league after their convincing win v Howe Harlequins and the Warriors have lost in the 2 league encounters between the teams.

So it will be a tough ask for the Warriors to pick up the win but as always the Warriors will be giving their all to pick up the bragging rights.

Teams to meet at 12.30pm for the 2pm kick off.

Warriors Team: 1 N Barnes, 2 M Alexander, 3 J Dalgliesh, 4 Abbie Clark, 5 M Muir, 6 K Warrick, 7 L Glendinning, 8 C Barnes, 9 N Barlow (c), 10 M McGeoch, 11 M Ker, 12 E Henderson, 13 A McWilliam, 14 K Barlow, 15 K Taylor, 16 E Jardine

U16 LEAGUE ALSO STARTS

Stop Press: The U16 Tigers win 33-27. Nice!

The U16 league also starts on Sunday as the lads travel to Greenock Wanderers in the Gallant Conference B League.

The U16 boys had a great pre-season win over Stewartry last weekend and will be hoping to continue this form into the league season.

Players to meet as arranged with the coaches for the 12pm kick off.

Best of luck to all teams and players this weekend.
