MATCH REPORT FROM TEAM MANAGER TERRI GRAHAM

Annan U14 Hornets joined with our friends from Wigtownshire for our home festival. All the ‘Shire girls donned Annan’s amber and black for the occasion.

Due to the recent rainfall, Violetbank was out of action and we moved along to Annan Academy playing fields to host our festival. Billy and Nicole were out early to set up 4 pitches to accommodate the 8 teams in attendance.

Annan/‘Shire have made huge improvements since the early rounds of these festivals, scoring a fair few tries in most games now. Tackles and rucks weren’t always their strong point but the improvement in the girls is quite remarkable.

As a combined team, we have a very young side, the majority of these young players only just starting out in the ‘unders’ section, some just starting out in rugby, if they carry on the way they’re going, the future is definitely bright at Annan and Wigtownshire.

Special mention to Annan’s player of the festival, Alahna. Well done.
