U14 GIRLS AT KILMARNOCK RUGBY

FESTIVAL
1ST OCTOBER 2023

MATCH REPORT FROM COACH BILLY HENDERSON

4 Annan U14 Girls travelled to Kilmarnock on Sunday for a Girls Rugby Festival, once again joining up with our good friends from Wigtownshire Rugby.

6 games played, no wins but a few games lost by just 1 try

My notes on our 4 Girls:

Alahna – Strong running, handoffs, stopping for a few tries and captain for few games;

Ayda – Good chips over the opposition (when they were flat up), strong runs, a few tries and captain for a few games;

Sophie – Good learnings on the day. Improvements in rucking and a couple of ball steals in open play.

Chloe – Determined player.  First season at this level and good work all day. Voted Annan’s toughest player in previous weeks.

A good enthusiastic day of rugby. No win, but coaches are happy with the improvements in the team.

We practiced rucking before the game and were pleased to see the girls applying these learnings during the games.

We have a few U14 Girls training but we could do with a few more taking the step up from training to games.

Thanks to our friends at Wigtownshire for allowing us to join up together and Kilmarnock for their hospitality and a well run day

Well done to ALL the girls.
