EAST KILBRIDE 2ND XV v ANNAN 2ND XV

After several calls offs and one no show the Annan second team were reduced to 15 players.

It was player/coach Andrew Jancey. In his new and unexpected career as a back row player who opened Annan’s account. With a brace of tries one of which was converted by Euan Watson.

East Kilbride scored twice also adding one conversion, which made the half time score 12 points each.

The second half saw every Annan player working hard for the team. As the opposition were able to call on fresh legs.

There were two tries from Alex Jones, one of which was a penalty try after Jones was prevented from grounding the ball following up a good kick and chase.

John Glendinning also got in on the act after a cracking solo effort on the wing. This try was unconverted.

Andrew Jancey scored Annan’s last try that was converted by Danny Lockerby.

Final score: East Kilbride 27 v Annan 36

All Annan’s players performed well throughout the game.

Pick of the forwards JJ Mackay, Calum Taylor and father and son Kieron and Mason Watrett. Mason was everywhere and is one of Annan’s young guns to watch out for in the future.
