ARDROSSAN 2ND XV v ANNAN 2ND XV

On Saturday 14th December the Annan second team set off to Ardrossan for a top of the table clash fixture.

The Ardrossan first team did not have a fixture and were able to strengthen their squad with a couple of players.

In the first 20 mins Annan were on the attack. With good Carries and pod work by Callum Taylor, Drew Thorburn, JJ Mackay and Calum Kirk.But unfortunately Annan were unable to score off any of the chances created.

Then a loose kick led to a counter attack by the Ardrossan winger who scored in the corner. This was followed by a further 4 tries and 2 conversations.

Half time score: Ardrossan 29 v Annan 0.

Coach Kieron Watret made changes and Ross Barlow came on at fly half He scored Annan’s only try shortly after.

Annan backs spent most of the second half tacking and defending. But unfortunately it was not enough as the hosts ran in another 4 tries and 1 conversation.

Final score Ardrossan 51 Annan 5.

Annan have one more league fixture away to Cumnock on the 18th January.

Annan are now second in the league 26 points. Because they picked up a loosing bonus point for fulfilling the fixture and travelling away with over 12 players. Ardrossan are now top of the league with 27 points

Both clubs are now dependent on what happens during their last fixture.
