ANNAN XV v WIGTON 2ND XV

On the 16th Nov an Annan men’s senior side hosted Wigton RFC in a friendly.
Wigton arrived with 12 players and so it was agreed that Annan would even up the sides and a 15 a side match would be played.
It was Wigton who scored 1st when Aaron Carmichael (playing for Wigton) broke the Annan defence line (con missed).
Keith Hogg (who appeared to be wearing his grandfather’s shorts) showed well in the Wigton ranks as did backrow player Stewart Livingston.
It had been agreed that there would be regular changes to players so that everyone would get game time
The match continued with both sides giving it big spuds when Wigton scored again. Conversation missed.
Annan finally got off the mark with a try by Josh Whiteside, then Callum Bell and then Whiteside again. 2 of the conversions were kicked by Whiteside.
Half time score Annan 19 Wigton 10.
The second half saw more changes. Players who had started in Green changed to Amber and Black. Players who had started in Amber and Black changed to Green
The match continued with good play from both sides.
Coach McCann chilled and took to his chair to direct operations, Coach Warrick rang in yet more changes. Anyone who wanted a game got a game.
For the record the second half saw Annan run in five more tries Aaron Carmichael, Jonathan Callaghan, John Glendinning and Josh Whiteside. Whiteside added 3 more conversions.
