ANNAN WARRIORS v BIGGAR LADIES.

WEST REGION DIVISION 1
29TH OCTOBER 2023

Match Report from: Gus Robertson

The Warriors took to the heavy Violetbank pitch knowing they would have to be on the top of their game to get anything against the  highflying Biggar Ladies.

It took both team a bit of time to adjust to the pitch and was a fairly even contest for the first 35 minutes, with the score being 7-7.

Biggar scored first after 6 mins but the Warriors hit back on the 14th minute. Scrum half Nicole Barlow crossing the whitewash after fooling everyone once again with her trademark dummy and go. Zoe Mitchell with the conversion.

It looked like this might be how the half would end but 2 lapses of concentration and the speedy Biggar backs ran in 2 tries. 1 was converted. 19-7 at half time

In the second half, pitch conditions turned a bit muddy but the Warriors kept the match fairly close and it was 21-36 with about 15 minutes left. Tries from Erin Ewin and Hannah Paterson both after constant penalties conceded by the Biggar Ladies who struggled all match with the Warriors forward play. Zoe with both conversions.

Like the first half, the Biggar Ladies speedy backs ran in a few tries in the last part of the match and the final score was 58-21.
