REPORT FROM COACH BILLY HENDERSON

The Annan U16 Girls played on Sunday against Strathendrick U16 Girls at Violetbank in their 3rd National League fixture.

Annan were slow starters, allowing Strathendrick to get scores on the doors before we got into our rhythm to run out 44-19 winners.

Scorers on the day were Maddy, Marnie, Alahna, Lexie, Megan and Louisa with Ayla kicking 2 conversions.

We were pleased to one of our new training moves work a treat. At a line out we bring our full back up to the standoff position, stack the back of the line out and throw the ball over the 15m line to Anna running on to it.

Players on the Day:

• Maddy – Started off on fire, getting the first score and involved in a lot of the action
• Emily – No fear in the tackle.

New Players:

We have had 4 girls move up from the U14 Girls and taking to this new level well.

• Ayda – Scrum half & gently settling into her new role. Working well (Shaenah had big boots to fill) also taking on a few kicking duties.
• Maisy – First U16 game, excellent performance and made many yards
• Alahna – 2 scores, carrying on as she did at U14 level. Big hearted performance.
• Lexie – MOM performance. New to the game mid season last year. Did she miss a tackle or drop the ball on Sunday? Not that I can recall
