MATCH REPORT FROM COACH JAMES CABLE

On Sunday 7th May the U14 Hornets welcomed Dumfries U14 Girls to a sunny Violetbank.

With good turnouts for both clubs, a 13 a side, full pitch game was decided upon.

With near perfect conditions Dumfries won the toss and kicked off the game. Within minutes the Hornets scored their first try which they converted.

The Hornets dominated the first third, scoring a total of 8 tries and only missing one conversion, with Dumfries unable to reply.

The 2nd third saw a more organised Dumfries side which were able to score a try and put the Hornets under pressure at times, however this was short lived and the Hornets went on to score a further 4 tries.

The final third saw the Hornets score 7 tries with Dumfries scoring one.

Tries: Anna, Ayda, Louisa, Megan, Alahna, Yvie, Shaenah, Emily, Eva.

Our U14 Hornets this season have gone from strength to strength, the girls have improved tremendously since August but there’s still so much they’re capable of improving.
