ANNAN 2ND XV v STRATHAVEN

On Sat 7th Oct Annan second team entertained Strathaven 2nd team at the Everholm.

The Strathaven team sheet revealed they had travelled with 7 reserves, a strong side indeed.

Snnan started well and the match was keenly contested. It was 22 mins before the deadlock was broken with Strathaven running in a try that was converted.

Strathaven then scored another unconverted try just before the break to give a half time score of Annan 0-12 Strathaven

Twenty minutes into the second half the referee penalised Annan for a string of high tackles and awarded the visitors a penalty try making the score 0-19 in Strathaven’s favour.

The visitors were then able to use their strong bench of players and managed to produce 2 more well worked tries which were both converted.

Final score: Annan 0-33 Strathaven.

Pick of the forwards were Josh Cairns, Ryan Armstrong and Murdo Brunton. Who all made good tackles and made ground on the charge

For the backs Simon Dix, who was a constant thorn, unsettling many of Strathavens plans. He also worked well with fly half Jordan Patterson. Jack Blair had several good breaks on the wing. Well done to all who played.
