ANNAN 2ND XV V MARR 3RD XV

WEST RESERVE 1
21ST MARCH 2026

Match Report from Steve Jancey

After a long break due to bad weather, the six nations and unavailable opposition, the Annan 2nd team finally got a home league fixture against Marr 3rd team.

Marr had a good start when Annan failed to secure the starting kickoff. Which led to an attacking ruck and the ball moving through Marr hands to score in the corner. The conversation was missed

At the restart, Annan started to play better, creating a lot of pressure, with some good carries from Grant Wilson and Drew Thorburn.

Fullback John Glendinning got into his stride as did centres Alex Jones and Ewan Campbell. But Marr scored 3 more tries, converting 1 to make the half-time score Annan 0 Marr 22.

In the second half, Annan scored 2 tries, the 1st by Mason Watret and the 2nd by JJ Mackay. Both converted by Andy McGreevy.

Marr scored a further 3 tries, converting 2 to give a full-time score of Annan 14 Marr 41.

Well done to Marr and thanks for making the journey.

Next week the team are back in league action away to local rivals Dumfries. 3 pm kickoff at Park Farm.
