ANNAN 2ND XV V ARDROSSAN

On Saturday the 17th January the Annan 2nd team hosted Ardrossan down at the Everholm.

Annan started well with some good carries and driving play as the pack urged on by player/coach Watret linked well together.

But it was a back centre Ewan Campbell who scored first. Converted by Andy McGreevy. Three more Annan tries were scored in the first half by Andy McGreevy, Sean Armstrong and Kelum Smith. Extras added by kicker McGreevy. Ardrossan scored two good tries converting both to make the half time score Annan 24 Ardrossan 14.

In the second half Annan tries came from Lex Stevenson and a great solo effort by Jack Vivers.

But Ardrossan had a good response scoring 3 tries and converting two as they got back into the game finishing strongly.

Final score: Annan 38 v Ardrossan 33.

This was a close but pleasing result for the Annan squad just after the Christmas break. Many thanks to Ardrossan for making the journey and to all in the background who made the match possible.

Next week the Annan 2nd team are again in league action as they travel to Hamilton Bulls.
