ANNAN 2ND XV v HAMILTON

On Saturday 11th October 2025, Annan had the visit of league leaders Hamilton Bulls.

In the first half it was all Annan with tries from Stewart Wyllie, Jack Vivers and Ewan Campbell. Three conversions + two penalties were added by Euan Latimer. Who certainly had his kicking boots on. Hamilton replied with one unconverted try to make the half time score Annan 27 Hamilton 5.

The second half was all Hamilton who seemed to have shaken off their travelling blues notching up a further 3 tries and one conversion. Latimer replied with a penalty to make the score Annan 30 Hamilton 24.

With minutes to go Hamilton scored again. This time in the corner score Annan 30 Hamilton 29.

Before the kick could be taken a serious injury to a Hamilton player on the pitch led the ref to cut the match 5 mins short. The ref decided that it would be the last kick of the game. The kick was taken it missed the posts and Annan won by the smallest of margins.

There were good performances by Annan centres Ben Conroy and Ewan Campbell whose constant tackling caused the visitors to change tactics and ship the ball out to the wings.

John Glendinning was inspiring when he managed to hold up the ball and prevent a Hamilton try. As were the back row of Mason Watret, Jack Vivers and Willie Gray.
