RUGBY TRAINING

Training is on this week for all Age Groups

New players with any or no experience are always welcome.

Our current training schedule is as follows. 

WALKING RUGBY – ALL AGES:  Monday at the Violetbank – 6pm to 7pm

U6-U12 BOYS/GIRLS: Sunday at Violetbank – 10am to 11am. 

U13-U14 GIRLS: Wednesday at Violetbank – 6.30pm to 8pm. 

U13-U14 BOYS: Thursday at Violetbank – 6.30pm to 8pm. 

U15-U16 GIRLS: Wednesday at Violetbank – 6.30pm to 8pm. 

U15-U16 BOYS: Thursday at Violetbank – 6.30pm to 8pm. 

U17-U18 GIRLS: Tuesday & Thursday at Violetbank – 7pm to 8.30pm

U17-U18 BOYS: Tuesday & Thursday at Violetbank –  7pm to 8.30pm

SENIOR WOMEN: Tuesday & Thursday at Violetbank – 7pm to 8.30pm

SENIOR MEN: Tuesday & Thursday at Violetbank – 7pm to 8.30pm

RUGBY MATCHES

1ST XV BACK AT VIOLETBANK

The Annan 1st XV are back at Violetbank on Saturday as they welcome Dalziel to Annan.

It’s been a tough start to West 1 life this season, with 3 losses from 3. The Annan lads will be hoping to stop this bad run and get the 4 or 5 points on Saturday

Their opponents Dalziel, convincingly beat Oban last Saturday, a team Annan were also well beaten by the week before, so the players and coaches will know they will have to be on top of their game to pick up the win

2ND XV ALSO AT VIOLETBANK

The 2nd XV are also at Violetbank on Saturday as they start their West 1 Reserve League season at home to Marr

Unfortunately, the 2nd XV did not travel to Whitecraigs last week as there is a bit of an injury build-up in the senior men’s division at Annan at the moment but the coaches will be hoping that there will be numbers on Saturday

Their opponents, Marr, also did not play last Saturday as Marr also did not have the numbers for their home match.

So if both teams can get the numbers, then hopefully there will be a league opener for both sides on Saturday. But if you are a betting man, it’s probably a 5/1 shot!

WARRIORS ON THE LONG TRIP TO OBAN

The Annan Warriors continue their West 1 campaign away to Oban Lorne Ladies

The Warriors will be travelling with confidence as, despite the defeat to Stewarty last Sunday, the Warriors were very unlucky not to have picked up more from the match. A bit of ring rustiness and the odd wrong decision probably cost the Warriors who were on top for a large part of the match.

Oban had a great opening day win and last season did the double over the Warriors so the Warriors will know they will have to be on top of their game for the full 80 to pick up the 4 or 5 points.

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

Several youth teams and squads in action this weekend as the season starts to pick up

The mighty U6-U12 Tigers are off to Moffat for their first matches of the new season. 10.30am meet for a 11am start.

The U13 Boys are away to Kilmarnock to take on the hosts and others. 2pm Start

The U14 Boys are also on the road to Greenock to take on the hosts and a couple of other teams. TBC Start

The D&G U18 Girls are at Wigtownshire to take on Biggar  U18 Girls. 11am KO
