MEN TEAMS IN ACTION

The 1st and 2nd XV are both in action this Saturday.

The 1st XV have a trip to Dalziel. Dalziel has never been a happy hunting ground for Annan but the coaches will be hoping to make it 2 wins on the bounce and the possibility of getting into the top half of the table if the black and amber can win.

For the record the 1st XV have played at Dalziel 8 times and have 3 wins. The last win was back in 2018.

A few players returned from injury last week and the coaches will be happy that there selection of Saturdays team will be a lot harder than usual.

The 2nd XV are at home to Hillhead Jordanhill and after last week’s great win over Hamilton, like the 1st XV, a win would most likely but the 2nd XV into the top half of the table.

Last week’s match was a game of 2 halves as Annan ran away with the 1st half but Hamilton cam storming back in the 2nd.

Annan’s cause was not helped by late withdrawals from the squad which hindered the match preparations but if the coaches can get a full squad out on Saturday then a climb up the table is a great posibiloity

Both matches kick off at 3pm

1st XV Squad: TBC

2nd XV Squad: TBC.

WARRIORS ALSO AT HOME

The Warriors are also at home this weekend when they welcome Lenzie to Violetbank on Sunday

With 2 defeats, one to Sundays opponents, all the Warriors can do is try to win all their remaining matches and hope a couple of other results go their way for a chance at promotion to West 1.

As can be seen by last seasons West 2 winners, it’s a big step up to West 1 due to the number of great teams in West 1 due to the way promotion to the Premiership has been restricted to 1 team per season.

So even if the Warriors miss out on promotion, it would mean they will have a chance at defending their National Plate title later on in the season. Silver linings and all that!

Sundays match will be a tough match against 2nd placed Lenzie but a win for the Warriors and they could replace the Glasgow team in 2nd.

Should be a great match up.

Match kicks off at 2pm

Warriors XV Squad: TBC
