1ST XV IN FINAL MATCH OF THE LEAGUE SEASON

STOP PRESS: The 1st XV are beaten but Strathaven also lost so Annan will still be playing West 1 rugby next season. Final Score 59-10. The Annan points from a double from Ryan Glass. Match Report now online

With Dalziel getting 2 points last week, it has becomes a straight shootout between Annan and Strathaven to who will be staying up in West 1 and who will be playing West 2 rugby next season. Both teams have tricky away ties.

Annan have the slightly harder task as they are away to unbeaten Ardrossan who will be wanting to end their season undefeated.

Strathaven don’t have it much easier though as they are away to undefeated at home Oban.

Basically Strathaven need to win and hope Annan don’t pick up 1 or 2 bonus points. 1 would be enough if Strathaven get a 4 point win. 2 would be needed if they pick up a 5 point win.

Annan can end all doubt by winning but this will be a tough ask but with 3 wins on the bounce, the lads will go into the match with confidence but knowing they will have to make zero mistakes and play the best rugby of their season to pick up the win

Player unavailability will mean the coaches will be picking a slightly different starting team to the last few outings but you know the team picked will be giving their all.

Match kicks off at 3pm

1st XV starting XV: 1 Ryan Glass 2 Murray Forbes 3 Kieran Warrick 4 James Morrison 5 Callum Taylor 6 Frazer Hope 7 Murdo Bruton 8 Stewart Livingston 9 Josh Whiteside 10 Fraser McMillan 11 Lex Stevenson 12 Alex Halliday 13 James Kirby 14 John Glendinning 15 Aitken Render

1st XV subs: 16 Wallace Alexander, 17 Euan Watson

WARRIORS OFF TO MAJORCA

STOP PRESS: End of Day 1 and the Warriors win 4 from 4. Good luck for Day 2 Warriors.

Day 2 update: The Warriors were just pipped in the semi final of the shield. Top effort though Warriors!

The Warriors are off to Spain on Friday as they are taking part in the annual Majorca Beach Rugby Tournament which has been running since 2008.

Best of luck to the Warriors heading off as they aim to end the season on a high and get a bit of silverware. At worst some great memories and team building!

YOUTH TEAMS IN ACTION

The U14 Girls are in action on Sunday as they are off to Stewartry for a Girls Rugby Festival with teams from around Scotland. 11.30am start

While on Saturday the 3 Annan girls, Anna Canning, Louisa Colledge and Megan Hutchinson, in the Scotland U16 Girls team are off to Gala for some match time.

Best of luck to all the teams this weekend
