WEEKEND ROUNDUP: 23RD MAY

24 May, 2021

THE P1-P7 TIGERS HOST DUMFRIES SAINTS

From Youth Organiser Heather Tinning

“Well done to all our Players today. The weather did not deter those tackles and tries as players showed some skills during games after a long break from a full contact game.

Thank you to all Supporters who watched our Players today, to our visiting team Dumfries Saints RFC, to all our Volunteers including our Grubber Ladies, to our BBQ chefs Ed and Susan and to all our referees.

Next week P1-7 Tigers are away to Moffat. Next home game 6 June”

THE HORNETS UP AT STEWARTRY

From Coach Billy Henderson

“25 girls traveled to Stewartry today.

First a warm up group game of touch with Stewartrys 15 girls then we split up into groups of 10 for a few games of touch, with 5 of our girls joining in with the Stewartry girls,

All was good today, the new girls fitting in well and the experienced girls showing up well.”

THE U14 AND U16 TIGERS ALSO AT STEWARTRY

From U16 Tigers Coach Andy Render

“Weather had the best of it as Stewartry edged it 2-1 but Annan tried hard, playing 2 of the 3 periods into the strong wind.

A good run out that will help players prepare for games in June”

The U16 Tigers

From U14 Tigers Coach Jack Tinning

“All the players played well in there 1st full game of the season.

Best in the forwards was Oban Nicholson and Nathan Grierson and in the backs Harry Nordon, Aidan Tinning, Zac Stevenson and the secure Aaron Kerr at full back.

Oban got the only score of the afternoon though most of the game was played in and around the Stewartry 22 line.

Great to see the lads running with the ball in hand again”
