On Saturday 20th April the Annan 2nd team set off to Strathaven for there final final league fixture of the season. A couple of late call offs had reduced the side to 15 players.
So Annan had no reserves to call on. Despite this setback the team performed well in the warm sunshine. Strathaven scored first with an unconverted try.
Annans No 8 Wallace Alexander then scored a try for Annan again unconverted which levelled the scores 5 points each. 25 minutes into the game Strathaven scored another unconverted try making the half time score 10-5 in the home sides favour.
The second half was a hard fought affair with neither side being able to get another score. Annan then lost a player (Euan Watson) due to injury and we’re reduced to 14 men for the remainder of the match.
Well done to all who played in what was an inspiring performance.
