U15 Match Report from: Neil Bell

Annan U15 girls went travelling down the M6 to Penrith to play against our Cumbrian neighbours

The Hornet’s came with 12 girls, and it being 10 a side we had plenty of subs in case of injuries

The game were 20 minutes game 10 minutes a half with 2 minutes rest at half time.
With all teams arrived and some coming up with less numbers. The Annan girls helped out the opposition.

First up was Carlisle/Penrith vs Annan

From the kick off Annan captain Lucy Stevenson ran just short of scoring from the kick off.

First over the whitewash was Hannah Colledge who also got another in this game. Next over was Niamh Ross doing her usual quick pick ups and sneaking through the gaps. I’m sure the great Bill McClaren would say something she’s as quick as a trout up a burn!!

Next to score was Ellie Smith who worked hard score in the corner plus another one later on

Next over was Sara Hunter who also got another in this game. Holly Clark getting 2 and to finish off Eva Graham Annan winning this 10 tries to nil

Next up was the Cumbrian Barbarians (Netherhall/Penrith/Kendall plus one Hornert)

This was a much closer game Annan winning this 4 tries to 1. Annan scorers were Makayla Geddes Niamh Ross (2) Sarah Hunter

Our last game was against Kirby Stephen

This was our best game as a team as The Hornets were coming up in defence as a team which in the end put Kirby under a lot pressure and hardly ever came into the Hornets half. It was also good to see the girls doing some moves they have been practicing at training and getting a score from it.

Annan scores coming from Sarah Hunter (3) Eva Graham, Hannah Colledge, Niamh Ross and Lucy Stevenson

A great team effort from everyone today and you all worked hard today. Some things to work on a training this week before our first home game this season on Sunday 12pm kick off.

Player of the tournament for Annan today goes to Lucy Stevenson who Tackled everyone that came near her.
