MEN TEAMS IN ACTION

The 1st and 2nd XV are both in action this Saturday as they continue their league campaigns

The 1st XV have a tough away trip to Carrick, The Ayrshire team have had a great start to the season and currently sit at the top of the table along with Strathendrick on full points.

The 1st XV do not have a great record at Carrick, losing their last 6 trips and only away 1 win back in 2012, so the coaches will be wanting to finally break this losing streak.

The Annan coaches will be wanting to build upon the 1st XV’s great win last weekend though against Oban to put themselves in the top half of the table and perhaps mount a challenge this season for the 1 promotion slot.

It will perhaps be one of the toughest matches of the season so any result here would be a great boost for the promotion asparations

The 2nd XV are at home on Saturday as they welcome Kilmarnock to Violetbank.

The teams have met on numerous occasions over the years and the matches have always been competitive affairs.

The 2nd XV started their West Reserve 1 league campaign with a loss but were hampered by numerous injuries and up until the match had to be conceded do to the aforementioned injuries the lads had kept themselves in the match against a tough Whitecraigs side.

The West Reserve 1 Division is a step up from West Reserve 2 but at Violetbank the Annan 2nd XV are usually a match for most teams and the coaches will be looking for a committed performance on Saturday to pick up 4 or even 5 points.

Both matches kick off at 3pm
