We are delighted to announce that the Annan Rugby Club Youth Leadership & Volunteering Programme has been launched for the season 2023/2024.

The Programme has been set up to give our Youth Players & Members the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through a series of volunteering activities and Club Workshops.

The aim of the Programme is to build the following skills and attributes in our future leaders whilst adding value to the Club and Local Community –

  • Confidence
  • Self-motivation
  • Organisational skills
  • Teamwork
  • Empathy
  • Community Spirit

The Programme will run until the end of the 2023/2024. A framework has been developed to track the participants progress throughout the season and to reward and recognise stand out performances at the end of season awards.

To achieve Future Leader status our youngsters will be required to complete 30 hours of volunteering throughout the duration of the season.

To achieve Gold Status and to be considered for Youth Volunteer of the Season they will be required to complete 50 hours of volunteering.

We have already seen a big uptake in volunteering by some of our youth players at our Summer Rugby Camps and these hours will be counted towards their total time at the end of the season.

The following activities will be considered as volunteering.

  • Assisting at Rugby Camps
  • Assisting with Mini Rugby Coaching
  • Assisting with Mini Rugby Refereeing
  • Non-Rugby Volunteering (Highland Games, Rugby Force Day, Club Events)
  • Club Lead Community Volunteering (litter picking etc)
  • Club fundraising activities
  • Club Lead Charitable events/ volunteering

We understand that everyone has different commitments and priorities outside of Rugby and this Programme is by no means compulsory, but for those who are keen and able, we are looking forward to working with you.
