Attached and below is the SRU’s Return to Rugby: Updated Guidance.

RETURN TO RUGBY: UPDATED GUIDANCE

“As per the Scottish Government announcement on 9 March, Scottish Rugby can now confirm the following updates to the Return to Rugby Guidance as of today (Friday 12 March) for those living under enhanced Level 4 restrictions (Lockdown)”

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY

Mini (ages 11 & under)

– All formats of touch rugby are permitted.

– Up to 30 people, including coaches, per 1/2 pitch.

– Balls may be used and shared as long as strict hand hygiene and ball cleaning is followed.

– Max 1 parent/guardian can stay to observe their child train – they must maintain physical distancing at all times.

Youth & Adult (ages 12 & over)

– Physically distanced non-contact rugby can resume.

– Non-contact rugby does not include touch or any form of modified contact rugby.

– Players and coaches must not encroach within 2m of each other.

– Up to 15 people, including coaches, per 1/2 pitch. – Balls may be used and shared as long as strict hand hygiene and ball cleaning is followed.

– Max 1 parent/guardian can stay to observe their child train – they must maintain physical distancing at all times.

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

– Players aged 17 & under can travel out of or into another Level 4 area for rugby activity.

– Coaches can also travel into and out of Level 4 for paid and voluntary roles.

– Players aged 18 & above must remain within their local authority area.
