ANNAN U14 TIGERS XV V LANGHOLM U14 XV.

Match Report from: Calum Heughan

The bright lights of Violetbank shone down on the Annan u14 Tigers and their guests Langholm u14s on Wednesday night where the cold windy conditions didn’t stop the teams from playing an entertaining game for the hardy crowd gathered to watch.

Annan were to take the game to the visitors from the off and 12 tries scored by the Tigers was to show how they are keeping their intensity up for the full 60 minutes. Langholm playing their first game of the season played well in parts but were not able to contain the free running home side who have been getting better and better with every game they are playing.
The coaches being mindful of games to come used the squad wisely to give players opportunities in different positions and also rest others who have not had as much time on the bench.
Captain Adam Hamilton scored another hat trick of tries on the night as did his pal Fraser Court. A brace from James Collinge and Deacon Henderson with Ewan Bell and Ruari Heughan also touching down was to give Aaron Kirkup plenty of goal kicking practice and another fine performance with the boot was to see 8 go over the bar in very tough conditions for a kicker.
By resting the players before the next game on Sunday at East Kilbride the coaches are happy with the development of certain aspects of the Tigers play and will pick up on these in the future but with 7 wins from 7 games the players are performing when it counts and this lays a great foundation for the rest of the season.

Team: A Hamilton (Capt 3 tries), E Bell (1 try), G Le Vin, F Court (3 tries), R Armstrong, M Watret, J Collinge (2 tries), K Smith, D Henderson (2 tries), R Heughan (1 try), O Nicholson, J Farral, J Glendinning, Z Stevenson, A Kirkup (8 cons), H Nordon, W Alexander, N McCourt.
