ANNAN HORNETS AT KESWICK RUGBY.

RUGBY FESTIVAL
22ND SEPTEMBER 2019

U15 Match Report from: Billy Henderson

On Sunday 22nd, 9 U15 girls and their U13 and U18 counterparts traveled to Keswick to participate in a rugby festival.

Annan Hornets

The mighty Annan Hornets

The U15 girls joined up with two girls from Penrith and 5 from Carlisle. They played against a combination team of Netherhall, Keswick and Kirby Steven.

The girl payed two thirty-minute halves. From the kickoff it was evident that our girls were more experienced than the other clubs as our Annan girls dominated throughout the game.

The final score was 26-5 to us.

  • Abby Notman – had some great pick up and goes as her first time as number 8
  • Eva Graham – despite a sore knee worked hard throughout the game
  • Niamh Ross – sharp as a tack at scrum half
  • Hannah College – had good strength to smash into tackles
  • Erin Ewing – good runs and perfect tackling all day
  • Kara Jamieson – performed well practiced dummy passes
  • Makayla Geddes – although being new to rugby she had some great runs up the wing.
  • Sarah Hunter – scored 2 tries (one of which was a ¾ pitch effort including the ball being chipped over the opposition) and three conversions.
  • Zoe Mitchell – player of the match for her dominant tackles and excellent tries due to fantastic runs which had the crowd is awe of her ability.

Please come and support all our girls at our next game at Dumfries.
